Euro 2016: Disclosed the Official logo of the Italian bid

The stylization of a tri-colored balloon shades of blue and a touch that encompasses the geographic center of Italy: is the image of the logo unveiled today by the Italian Football Federation to support the Italian candidate at Euro 2016, which will be allocated by UEFA Executive Committee in May 2010.

"Euro 2016 - said the Italian Football Federation president Giancarlo Abete - may represent an historic opportunity to transform the quality, safety and friendliness of the Italian stadiums and continue as the project of cultural renewal of the football system that we are implementing in recent years in Italy. Our application must be the best calling card for the system if all of Italy, political, sports bodies, members of the football fans, will support us with enthusiasm and concreteness. "

The logo was developed by the local Polline Agency, which works at national and international institutions a! nd sports clubs. The image combines the tricolor of the Italian flag, which symbolizes the blue jersey of the national team four times world champion and the "boot" has always identified with the value of "Made in Italy".

The Italian candidature for the European Championship Finals 2016, which for the first time will see 24 teams involved, provides for a batch of 12 cities to host the 51 races planned (36 in the first round, 15 by knockout in the final). The choice of the Italian Football Federation has confirmed the city already selected for Euro 2012: Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Florence, Genoa, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Rome, Turin, Udine and Verona.

The complete Bid will be delivered to UEFA by 15 February. Positive findings have emerged from meetings held in Naples, Cagliari and Verona, with the municipal authorities and representatives of football clubs. The round of consultations will continue in the coming days with mayors and managers of clubs in o! ther cities included in the application. Two additional compar! isons wi th Uefa after the one relating to safety and stages of last 11, are planned October 1 on matters related to logistics and transport (railways, airports, mobility) to the addresses by the representatives of Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Tourism, Assoaeroporti, ENAC, ENAV, Anci, Civil Defense, Alitalia, State Railways, October 6 on trade issues / legal and application procedures.
